As someone who had a weak command in English and Linguistics skills in general, I personally disliked this subject as it felt very subjective to me and there was no set answer scheme to this subject. I also felt that it was difficult for me to improve, with my grades stagnating ever since I entered RI. However, Mr Wong proved me wrong by bringing my GP grades, slowly but surely, up to an A for my GCE A levels, allowing me to achieve the maximum 70 RP in the exam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr Wong covers every topic that can be tested \u2014 from popular topics like Arts, Politics and Technology, to less explored topics like Religion and Values. As I spent my years under Mr Wong\u2019s guidance, he taught me a plethora of unique and interesting examples, from contemporary news articles to knowledge dug out from old history such as the Seven Day War, of which each of these examples curated carefully to widen my general knowledge of the world\u2019s happenings. This provided me with a more concrete foothold for more eloquent and nuanced writing in my essays. Additionally, each of his lessons included a semi-assisted piece of essay for us to develop on every skill required to write a well polished essay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Comprehension skills are not neglected \u2014 Mr Wong compiled vital comprehension skills into a Linguistic Skills Booklet for each and every student to refer to. This allowed me to tackle every comprehension question properly and understand the right way to solve each type of question on the exam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Overall, Mr Wong\u2019s light hearted way of teaching has made each lesson entertaining and effective. He always tries his best to relate with the younger folk which makes his lessons truly engaging and never a bore. While English has been the lingua franca of my life, I struggled to master the answering techniques required for examinations. However, Mr Wong made daunting questions more manageable by breaking them down into simple concepts. His lessons cover both breadth and depth, providing me with a strong foundation in the various topics tested in English.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Upon attaining full marks for my Final Examination English essay, I was both overjoyed and surprised, as full marks are rarely awarded for such a demanding component. This result was by no means a miracle. Rather, it can be attributed to Mr Wong\u2019s dedicated tutelage. By sharing articles and videos on real-world events, he has equipped me with a wide range of relevant examples. The clear essay structures taught have also helped me organise my explanations and elaborations effectively.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In an argumentative essay, clarity and relevance of points are essential. Mr Wong has supported me greatly in this area, which I found most challenging, by guiding me through various thesis statements. With his extensive collection of past examination questions for practice, I felt better prepared for examinations where similar questions might appear. Furthermore, the various model essays available for perusing through has allowed me to compare answers and improve on my writing. Overall, I would not have been able to achieve such results without Mr Wong\u2019s guidance, for which I am truly grateful.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group \u5e74\u521d\u52a0\u5165Edwin\u8001\u5e08\u7684\u8865\u4e60\u8bfe\u7a0b\u3002\u6211\u4e2d\u4e8c\u7684\u82f1\u8bed\u8bd5\u5377\u60e8\u4e0d\u5fcd\u7779\u3002\u5728\u6700\u8fd1\u7684\u4e2d\u4e09\u82f1\u6587\u671f\u672b\u8003\u8bd5\u4e2d\uff0c\u6211\u5f97\u4e86 GPA 4.0\uff0c\u5982\u679c\u6ca1\u6709Edwin\u8001\u5e08\uff0c\u6211\u80af\u5b9a\u4e0d\u53ef\u80fd\u53d6\u5f97\u8fd9\u6837\u7684\u6210\u7ee9\u3002 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u5176\u6b21\uff0c\u4ed6\u5bf9\u6bcf\u4e2a\u5b66\u751f\u90fd\u4e0d\u9057\u4f59\u529b\u3002\u5728\u6574\u4e2a\u5b66\u5e74\u4e2d\uff0cEdwin\u8001\u5e08\u90fd\u4f1a\u5bc6\u5207\u5173\u6ce8\u6bcf\u4e2a\u5b66\u751f\u7684\u5b66\u4e60\u8fdb\u5ea6\uff0c\u63d0\u4f9b\u4e2a\u6027\u5316\u7684\u6539\u8fdb\u53cd\u9988\u3002\u5f53\u5b66\u751f\u9047\u5230\u96be\u4ee5\u7406\u89e3\u7684\u6982\u5ff5\u65f6\uff0c\u4ed6\u4f1a\u8010\u5fc3\u89e3\u7b54\uff0c\u5e76\u5168\u5e74\u4e3a\u6240\u6709\u5b66\u751f\u63d0\u4f9b
